Preparing for the Christmas Charity Ball
Christmas is just around the corner, 45 days to be exact. The UST Faculty of Medicine and Surgery student council is cooking something for the christmas season. We are planning to host a christmas party for the special and mentally challenged kids of Elsie Gaches Alabang. I called already the institution and asked about the requirements. A social worker who was stationed in the office of Elsie Gaches said, a DSWD permit from the Regional Director Region IV NCR and a project proposal is what we need to push through with our plans. I hope everything goes well. I visited the website of DSWD to check their local phone numbers to inquire how we will pass the proposal and for their office address - why am I not surprise, that all the numbers that were posted in their website are not working anymore(cut by the telephone company?unpaid telephone bills?). I had to call again the social worker in charge that afternoon in Elsie Gaches to inquire about the number of DSWD, good thing they have the updated one. Haay... government websites should be updated in the first place. Oh well....its just a few bumps, but I am more excited to see through this project.... I am excited to see those sparkling smiles both from the children of Elsie Gaches and from the USTFMS medical students.
